Did you know that October is Fire Safety Month? In fact, National Fire Prevention Week is Sunday, October 6, 2024 - Saturday October 12, 2024. This year's theme is "Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you!" It is so important to have working smoke alarms, and making sure yours is working properly.

The National Fire Prevention Association website suggests to:

  • Install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area (like a hallway), and on each level (including the basement) of the home.

  • Make sure smoke alarms meet the needs of all family members, including those with sensory or physical disabilities.

  • Test smoke alarms at least once a month by pushing the test button.

  • Replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old or don’t respond when tested.

You and your kids can also visit the kids' section as a resource to teach your kids about fire safety.

Also drive by and see the progress on the new Professional Baseball Stadium across from our office, the construction is really coming along.

I am a 1974 Graduate of Gardner-Webb College/BA, which helps me to take care of my customers. I am a Second-Generation State Farm Agent since 1985 with roots in the community. A Widower with a son, married daughter and son in law plus a mini golden doodle named Finn.
